While you work she watches over you quietly. Up too late? She'll worry about you, too.

Start the Pomodoro timer and she opens her book and works with you. Tasks you'd put off alone keep going when someone is right there, and at every break she's the first to say "good job".

Drag over any text on your screen and press Enter. She reads it aloud in Japanese, translating first when it's in another language, with the meaning in your language in her bubble.

Lo-fi that changes with the time of day, plus rain, fireplace or keyboard sounds. Mix them as you like, or play your own music.

"Tonari, start the timer." Set your own phrases to open apps, change the volume, control your music or press shortcuts. The microphone stays off until you turn it on.

No. Translation, reading aloud and voice recognition run on your PC. Only the calendar connection and weather use the internet.
The interface is in English, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German and French. Her voice is Japanese, with her words shown in your language.
Windows 11 (64-bit) with about 6 GB of free space. A GPU makes reading aloud faster, but it also works on the CPU.
In some places. The app, her animation, personality and design are made by us; her art and the music were drafted with AI tools and finished by us. A translation model and a voice model run on your PC only for the text you pick. There is no free AI chat.
